    Abstract

    The work of Émile Durkheim represents a significant contribution to sociology and education. Its contribution to the understanding of the relationships that are established between society and education for the configuration of the social warp was able to highlight the socio-spatial-temporal characteristics as determinant elements within the ideals of man and society. In this sense, the school space emerges as a vehicle for socialization of the ideals of society, and makes it a constituent and constituent of its transformations. The text below, presents some elements of Durkheim’s thinking about of the Education, seeking to highlight the relationships that this links with the school-space. To do this, we will take as reference some of his works, as well as those of other scholars on the subject.
