Author Guidelines

      Qualified contributions in any of the following categories will be considered for publication.

TYPES OF ITEMS

"Búsqueda" is a scientific research journal in the area of Social Sciences, biannual and of continuous publication, aimed at researchers, which publishes articles in Spanish, Portuguese and English in the following categories:

  1. Scientific and Technological Research Article. Document that presents, in a detailed manner, the original results of completed research projects. The structure generally used contains five important sections: introduction, methodology, results, discussion and conclusions.
  2. Review Article. Document resulting from a finished research where the results of published or unpublished research are analyzed, systematized and integrated, in a field of science or technology, in order to account for the advances and development trends. It is characterized by presenting a careful bibliographic review of at least 50 references. The structure generally used contains five important sections: introduction, methodology, results, discussion and conclusions.
  3. Article of Reflection. Document that presents results of finished research from an analytical, interpretative or critical perspective of the author, on a specific topic, using original sources. The structure generally used contains trhee important sections: introduction,  development with internal subtitling and conclusions.
  4. Short Article. Short document that presents preliminary or partial original results of a scientific or technological research, which usually require an early dissemination.
  5. Case Report. Document that presents the results of a study on a particular situation in order to make known the technical and methodological experiences considered in a specific case. It includes a systematic review of the literature on analogous cases.
  6. Bibliographic Review. Review and comments on books in the area of ​​interest of the journal, published in the last three years. Its extension should not exceed five pages.

 

RULES OF PRESENTATION OF WORKS

  1. Unpublished, empirical and theoretical works that have not been published or presented for publication simultaneously before another international journal, written in Spanish, Portuguese or English, are accepted. The average rejection rate of the journal was, for the year 2019, of 50%.
  2. All papers must follow the style guidelines of the American Psychological Association (APA) in its latest version. Writings that do not comply with this requirement will be returned to their Authors for review and correction. The use of bibliographic references in the following percentages is positively valued: 30% of Latin American references, 70% of references of international journals published outside Latin America, 70% of references of the last 5 years.
  3. The authors, in addition to verifying compliance with their standards for the presentation of research papers, must ensure the achievement of the ethical standards defined by the Ethics Committee on Publications-COPE.
  4. In order to verify originality and avoid academic and professional plagiarism, "Búsqueda" has a plagiarism detection policy through Turnitin anti-plagiarism software, so that all the received works are evaluated by the same. In any case, it is necessary to document the origin of the project or institutional support.
  5. The manuscript must be adjusted to the Template Model used by the journal. The recommended length is no more than 8,000 words.
  6. All authors must indicate their name pen, name of the institution to which they belong or organization where they work, city, country, affiliation to a research group (if it is the case), email and their identifier (ID) of Author ORCID (https://orcid.org/register) or others such as Redalyc, Research Gate, Mendeley, Academia, Google Citations (https://scholar.google.es/citations?user=FpJV9W4AAAAJ&hl=es). The document must be completed and sent through the OJS on Information for Authors.
  7. The authors will avoid, as far as possible, the footnotes. Only for clarifications or provide additional information. They should not be used for bibliographic references, since they should be within the body of the text.
  8. If you want to highlight words or phrases in the text, preferably use italics.
  9. When acronyms or abbreviations are used, record the complete equivalence first, followed by the corresponding abbreviation or abbreviation, and write only the respective abbreviation in the following.
  10. The illustrations (images, graphs, tables and figures) must be located (preferably in JPG or PNG format) in the exact place where you think it should be presented, duly identified. The enumeration and titles of the illustrations should be at the top and highlighted in bold, with the same letter of the content. Below the frame, the note will be written at 10 points and the same width of the frame.

  12. "Búsqueda" uses an anonymous review process by peers external to the publishing entity of the journal, using the "double-blind" method (double-blind peer review).
  13. The journal is not responsible for the ideas or opinions expressed by the authors of the articles or collaborations.
  14. The journal does not have under its control, nor is it responsible for, the links and hypertexts that, in some articles, allow access to services and services offered by third parties on other websites.

 

RULES FOR THE RECEPTION, REVIEW AND PUBLISHING OF PAPERS 

  1. The journal receives, reviews and sends the works to the Editorial Committee's opinion, which selects the articles that meet the required requirements and assign external peer reviewers to the journal's publishing entity (80% of the reviewers do not belong to the Committee Editorial or the publishing entity) for blind review, on whose criterion its publication depends. Once the concept is received, the author is sent to take the observations of the evaluation into account. In cases of divergence between the evaluators, or before the author's observations, one more evaluator will be assigned to settle the evaluation. The evaluation time of the submitted articles will not be longer than six (6) months. Articles evaluated as publishable with modifications will be sent to the author (s) and must be corrected within fifteen (15) business days; otherwise they will be treated as new items sent.
  2. Once the articles have been approved for publication, "Search" will be responsible for the style correction, as well as the revision of texts in English. The editorial changes are proposed to improve the writing and avoid grammatical errors.
  3. The author (s) are responsible for the content of the article, the accuracy of the information, the integrity of the analysis process and its results, including tables, graphs and bibliographic citations.
  4. The Editorial Committee will receive permanent writings to evaluate its possible publication.

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

  • 1. The submission has not been previously published nor has it been submitted for consideration by any other journal (or an explanation has been provided in the comments to the editor).

  • 2. The manuscript conforms to the Template Model of the journal.

  • 5. The shipping file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF or WordPerfect format.

  • 4. If submitted to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring an anonymous evaluation should be followed'.

  • 3. Must be sent The Authors information document throught OJS.
